Q. How long will I be out on the road?
A. We realize quality time with your family and friends is very important to you.  Home time varies by driving type and product you are hauling. For example, a local driver is home daily; a regional driver is typically home weekly, whereas an over the road driver is typically out 7-14 days.  A home time request can be submitted to ensure we get you home in time for the important events in your life.

Q. Can I take a passenger with me?
A. Our core value at Trimac is “Safety,” and keeping you safe is our number one priority, therefore passengers are not allowed.  However a family rider program is available in Canada. 

Q. Are your trucks governed?
A. In the United States our trucks are governed at 65 mph.

A. In Canada, our trucks are governed at 105 kph.

Q. Do you require uniforms?
A. Uniforms are not required at most branches, however, we ask our drivers to remember that they are the face of our company as they interact with the public and our customers. We require our drivers to look neat, clean and professional.
A. In the United States, our Elite Team members are required to wear a special uniform for all customer deliveries.  This uniform designates that the driver is part of Trimac’s Elite Team.

Q. When do I qualify for vacation?
A. Vacation time off with pay is available to eligible employees to provide opportunities for rest, relaxation, and personal pursuits. All full time regular company drivers working 30+ hours per week are eligible for vacation benefits. Vacation accrual begins on the first day of full-time regular employment and is earned after one year of employment.

Q. Will I receive layover and detention pay?
A. Yes, we pay both layover and detention pay.  Some exceptions may apply.

Q. What If I am interested in working outside of a driving career?
A.  We are able to provide many exciting career opportunities at Trimac.  If you are interested in transitioning out of a truck and into one of our shops, washracks, or administrative careers, all you need to do is speak to your branch manager or recruiting professional for more details on current openings and opportunities.

Q. If you encounter an unsafe situation, what can I do?
A. You are empowered to stop immediately and contact your branch manager or manager of safety services.  Providing you a safe workplace is our number one priority.

Q. Do you ever ask drivers to “cheat” on their log or run longer just to make a load?
A. Never. We want our drivers to be safe and legal. We’re constantly working to develop tools and techniques that empower our drivers to do their best work and make smart decisions for themselves and Trimac.
